Mrs. Betty Jean Ervin was born September 3, 1936 in Bristol, Virginia to the late Roy Allen Eugene and Hazel Lewis Matthews. She was the oldest of seven children, Bobby, Fred, Johnny, Roy, Linda, and Brenda. After celebrating 86 years of life, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ chose to bring Betty home on December 26, 2022.

After graduating from Douglas High School in Bristol, VA, Betty attended Mary Holmes College to study nursing in West Point, MS. She worked at Ivy Memorial Hospital and Clay County Medical Center in West Point and retired after 40 years of service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Ervin will be conducted in West Point, MS.
