Obituary

Mrs. Betty Sue Mccoo, of 488 Ventura Circle, Bristol, Virginia, departed this life from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, June 12, 2026, after a courageous, years-long battle with HHT blood disorder. Throughout her illness,  Sue continued to enjoy her life, cherishing every single day. And she loved her TV soaps, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. She was a soap reporter  in her own right.

Betty (Sue) was born and raised in the Bristol, Tennessee, and Virginia area. She attended Virginia High School and later continued her education at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia.

Married , Betty (Sue) moved to Washington, D.C., where she began raising her four children. She later returned to her beloved home of Bristol to continue raising her family.

She was a dedicated worker at Bristol Regional Medical Center, from which she eventually retired. Even after retirement, her caring nature led her to continue working as a compassionate companion to others.

Betty (Sue) was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Gospel Church under Pastor Ann Johnson, now Rev. William Hampton, for the last four years.
Betty was welcomed into Heaven by her loving mother, Betty Jean Bunche; brother, Jerry Lee Bunche; sister, Charlotte Ruth Wilson; grandfather, Leroy Bunche; grandmother, Mary Lee Shazor; and uncle, Robert Bunche.

Betty's legacy of love and strength lives on through her children, Samuel Tre (Ashley) Mccoo, Xavier Max Mccoo, Damien Mccoo, and Alexandria Mccoo; granddaughter, Tiona Mccoo; sisters, Mary Margaret Bunche of Richmond, Virginia, and Cathy (Tracy) Shelly of Meridian, Mississippi; brothers, Roy (Kathy) Bunche of Bristol, Virginia, Robert Bunche of Seattle, Washington, Billy "BJ" Bunche of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ricky (Brenda) Bunche of Bristol, Tennessee, and Bradley Bunche of Greenville, South Carolina; devoted friend and cousin, Penny Walker of Bristol, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
