Carmelita Renee "Punkin" Samples, 50, of Kingsport, TN passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in Virginia. She has gone to be with Jesus and her beloved grandson, Marcus Douglas, II, and her son, Kristofer Samples. Carmelita's grandson, family, and especially her two daughters and sister were her favorite things the Lord blessed her with. Born in Kingsport on August 31, 1970, a daughter to Ethel Livingston and Leroy Etter of Kingsport. She resided in Kingsport and New York most of her life.Carmelita was unforgettable and could make you laugh harder than any other. She enjoyed being with her grandson and family, listening to music, and telling as many funny stories as she could. Carmelita always showed concern for everyone's children, not just her own. It takes a village to raise kids!! She treated everyone's children with affection and discipline as if they were her own.Carmelita is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Livingston and Leroy Etter; grandmother, Kartha Childs; grandfather, George Childs; uncles, Amos Childs and George Childs, Jr.; and aunt, Mary Childs.She is survived by her daughters, Ashton Douglas (fiancé, Franklin Henry, III) and Kourtnei Samples; siblings, Jackie Childs and Ramona Bryant; aunt, Deloris Happodt and Kay Price; nephews, Jackie Lee and Chad Whittington; nieces, Kizzy Kindle and Renee Bryant (Brown) and her children; special great-nieces, Tyleshia Kindle and Natalia Kindle; special daughters, Kayla Sutton and Kasey Brooks; cousins, Monica Bellamy, Elisha Lewis, Kamila Lollis, and Terrille Carpenteras; well as a host of other great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
