Cathy Deana Wampler, affectionately known as "Sassy," departed this life on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Bristol, Virginia. She was born in Bristol in 1955 to Myrtle and Miles Boardwine.

Cathy was a trusting, forgiving, and playful caregiver to everyone she encountered. She lived by the idea "life is too short to stay mad." In her spare time, she enjoyed playing pool, bowling, shopping, and watching classic television shows.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Wampler; sister, Debra Brown, and brothers, Larry Boardwine and Randy Boardwine.

To cherish her memory, Cathy leaves behind her children, Brian Boardwine and Amanda Wheeler; grandchildren, Orion Fleenor, Leeland Branch, Nevaeh Wheeler, Nolee Wheeler, Canden Ketron, and Kyson Wheeler; brother, Ricky Boardwine; sister, Linda Garrett; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
