Christopher Travis "T Payne" Payne was born October 3, 1981, in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Travis departed this life on March 11, 2023, at Ballad Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Travis graduated from Virginia High school in June 1999. Over his life, he worked at Sam's Club, Shoney's, and Popeyes. He was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. Travis loved cheering for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

Travis was preceded in death by his great-mothers, Dora Horton and Evelyn Dixon; grandmother, Novella Dixon; aunts, Ruth Cummings and Nell Banner; and uncle, Fred Banner.

To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife, Connie LeAnn Payne; daughter, Makayla Payne; four step-daughters; parents, Glenda Payne and Mike Payne; grandfather, Branner Dixon; grandmother, Gracie Payne; six grandchildren, Althea Yates, Xander Harden, Khaleesi Harden, Coy Yates, Ezra Gagnier, and Nylah Vittatoe; special aunts, Shirley Wellington and Mary Pope; special cousins, Sherry Wellington and Ennis Fullen; aunts, Edwina Lewis, Monica Bradley, Angie (Sonny) Carter, Brenda Ayla, Vernell Willis, and Alex Dixon; uncles, George (Nellie) Wellington, Eugene Dixon, and Percy Payne; and other cousins.
