Ellen Louise Beidleman Booker was born on January 15, 1931, in Bristol, TN, to Arthur E. and Pearl Dixon Beidleman.

She was raised in Bristol in the village known as "the Hill" on Blackley Road, surrounded by ten siblings and a large loving extended family group.

She passed quietly at The Waters of Bristol nursing facility on Friday, October 28, 2022.

She attended Lincoln School, Slater High School, and matriculated at Rogersville College. She was a lifelong faithful member and leader at Hood Memorial AME Zion Church.

In her younger years, Louise resided in Washington, D.C., and was employed as a teacher. In her later years, she was a valued customer service employee in the Bristol area.

When she returned to Bristol, she married the love of her life, James Reed Booker. They had a vibrant life filled with love, family, and laughter and five children.

"Mama Lou" will fondly be remembered for her sparkling mind, raucous sense of humor, lovingly heavy hand, and soft, kind spirit. She was an avid reader of hundreds of books. She loved words and had an affinity for crossword puzzles and Dove chocolate.

She follows into Glory, her husband, James "Daddy Jim" Booker; sons, Michael Edward Garnett, James Samuel, and Craig Alan Booker; her only daughter, Ellen Gaye Booker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Louise leaves two sisters to cherish her memory, Della B. Scott and Adwoa Edith B. Aggrey of Washington D.C.; her youngest son, Kent Booker of Bristol, TN; eight grandchildren, Michael Stephan, Mario, Moishe', Joy, Brandon, Erech, Kasey and Katherine; and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ms. Ellen Louise Beidleman Booker will be conducted Friday, November 4, 2022, at 2 from the VA National Cemetery, Mt. Home, TN. The family will receive friends at R.A. Clark Funeral Service from 12 pm until 1 pm. The cortege will depart from the funeral home at 1 pm.
