Ms. Georgia Elizabeth Carter, 94, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 24, 2025. She was born on June 02, 1930. She was a beacon of love and strength, cherished as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and much more to her large and loving family.

Georgia's life was marked by resilience and dedication. She worked as a cook most of her life and finally retired at the remarkable age of 90 from Fort Shelby Manor, leaving a legacy of dedication and hard work. Georgia was of Baptist faith, understanding that her faith in God brought her through the years. She enjoyed moments with her family, especially during gatherings filled with laughter and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by two sons, J.W. & Richard Carter; daughter, Tammy Carter; grandson, Joshua Bunche; great-grandson, Christopher Carter; and sisters, Carmen Harden and Carolyn Skaggs.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters, Theresa Ann Carter of Stafford, VA, Sharon Newton of Bristol, VA, Anna Carter of Bristol, TN, Sandy Daggs (Todd) of Bristol, TN, Linda Charles of Woodbridge, VA, Brenda Bunche (Ricky) of Bristol, TN, and Deborah Carter of the home; four sons, Sonny Carter (Angie) of Bristol, TN, Michael Carter of the home, William Johnson of Aurora, CO, and Rufus Carter (Dee) of Concord, NC; daughter-in-law, Jimmie Lou Carter of Bristol, VA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her loss is deeply felt by her immense family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in the lives she touched.
