Ja'Shon Yates, 19, of Bristol, Virginia, passed on January 1, 2023. Ja'Shon was born on August 18, 2003.

Ja'Shon graduated from high school in 2021, and recently was employed as a manager at Barberitos. In his time with us he truly lived his life to the fullest. He had the ability to light up any room he stepped foot in with his contagious laugh and smile that could never be forgotten. Ja'Shon was a smart and confident young man who reached many people in a positive way. Ja'Shon's love was one of a kind and very special.

Ja'Shon was preceded in death by his brother, Tyreek Marquee and his uncle, Michael Fersner.

Ja'Shon is survived by his mother, Trinity Yates; Dorothea "Momma D" Fersner; great-gma, Mary E. Brown; aunt, Marsheena Fersner; godmother, Bee Mott; godsiblings, Jayden Geiger, Isaiah Mott, and Draven Schaepe; girlfriend, Katie Cosner; special aunt and uncle, Janeen and Robert Worley, along with their children Breanna, Deondre, and Dante Worley; Jessica Gonzales, and her children Makayla Sykes and Dominic Worley; brother figure, David Arthur, and a few special friends, Trayveon Price, Aiden DeBord, Yeshua Hawkins, and TJ Blake.

Memorial services for Mr. Ja'Shon Yates will be conducted Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 4 pm from Lee Street Baptist Church.
