John Allen Delaney, Jr., age 75, of Bristol, Va., affectionately known as "Crow" and "Papa John," transitioned peacefully from a short illness surrounded by family.

John was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and worked for Electrolux for 32 years before retiring. He loved gardening, fishing, football, buying a ton of unnecessary gadgets, and spoiling his grands.

John was predeceased by his parents, John A. Delaney, Sr. and Claudine (Mills) Delaney; brother, Jo-Nathan Delaney; his favorite great-aunt, Bea; several aunts; a niece; and great nephew.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving & devoted wife, Veda; six daughters, Tia Clark, Demetris Davis, Tamiko Lewis, LaTanji (Jamie) Clark, Jamila (Ira) Youngblood & Khadija (Charles) Clark-Byron; two brothers, Fred and Reginald Delaney; four sisters, Deborah Perry, Jennifer Alexander, June Delaney & Taina Rosser; 11 amazing grandchildren; 12 great-grands; several nieces and nephews; special cousins Cheryl, Poca, Gayle, & Peaches; and many friends.

A graveside service for Mr. John Allen Delaney, Jr. will be held on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, at 2:00 pm from Mountain Home Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. Pastor Todd French will be officiating.
