Joseph Sanders of Bristol, Va, departed this life Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Ballad Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 24, 1948, to the late Mr. Washington Sanders and Mrs. Cassie C. Moore Sanders. He attended school in Bristol, TN, and was a member of Everflowing Well Church. Joseph severed his country for 22 years in the U.S. Army.He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Survivors include his devoted wife of fifty years, Mrs. LaVerne Sanders; and to this union two sons, Owrenthial (O.J.) Sanders and Brandon (Caitlin) Sanders; nine grandchildren, Jarah, Justin, Kingston, Jakari, Giovanni, Bailey Reign, Kya, Uriah, and Brynn; two brothers, Jake (Norma) Sanders and Herman Sanders; four sisters, Belinda Morton, Hazel (William) Oliphant, Josie Sanders, and Hattye Boady. Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service will be conducted Monday, August 3, 2020, at the V.A. National Cemetery, Mt. Home TN. Military honor will be conducted by the U.S. Army and Boones Creek VFW.
