Joseph Alexander Tabor, also known as "Mad Dog," passed away on January 25, 2026, at NHC in Johnson City. He was born on April 11, 1947, in Bristol, Tennessee, to Robert Lee Tabor and Maggie Bell Tabor.
Joseph attended Slater High School and worked as a truck driver. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as an Associate Pastor.
He enjoyed working with his tractors and playing the drums. Joseph was known for being kind, fun loving, and funny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Tabor and Maggie Bell Tabor. He also had three brothers and three sisters, along with several nieces and nephews.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laura Joann Tabor. He is also survived by his children: Danny and Maria of Bristol, Tennessee; David and Ellen Tabor of Mesquite, Texas; and Jeff and Heather Tabor of Kyle, Texas. He is survived by
grandchildren Alex Tabor and great grandson Myles Tabor, Brittney Tabor and great granddaughter Everleigh, Jordon Tabor, Tamera Mederios (Malachi), Austin Tabor and great granddaughter Keili, as well as several nieces and nephews.
