Kenneth Eugene "Smitty" Smith Sr. entered into his eternal home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1945, to Albert and Lovella Smith in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Smitty dedicated his life to serving his community and those around him. He served as a police officer for 32 years, worked with the Bristol Emergency Rescue team, and also worked as a truck driver. He was a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church. Smitty enjoyed cooking for events at the church, riding his motorcycle, and just being outside in God's creation. He was straightforward, yet could be funny in what he said. Those who knew him were aware of his silent "look" and the various meanings it could convey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lovella Smith; brother, Albert Smith; and sister, Beverly Burke.

To cherish his memory, Smitty leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Smith; children, Kenneth Smith Jr., Kimberly Smith, and Karon Smith; sisters, Brenda Smith and Loretta Harris; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one goddaughter; one godson; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
