Obituary

Ms. Laurene Vivian Hogans was born in Bristol, Tennessee on December 12, 1948 to the late John Ed Hogans, II and Laura Mae Moore Hogans. She departed this life on August 21, 2017 at her home.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Hogans.Laurene was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church where she served several years as the treasurer for the United Methodist Women. She graduated from Tennessee High School in the integrated class and went on to receive her B.S. degree and Master's degree from East Tennessee State University. Laurene was director of the Bristol Crisis Center for several years as well as an adjunct teacher for Virginia Intermont College and Virginia Highlands Community College. She worked at Univac for 19 years.To cherish her memory she leaves her sons, Patrick Lee Anderson, Alex Coleman Anderson; brother, John Ed Hogans, III (Drucilla); two grandchildren, Cloee and Coleman Anderson; one niece, Sonia Dandridge (Bryan); two nephews, John Ed Hogans IV (Paula) and Stacy Cook (Danielle); sister–in-law, Frederica Cook (Norman); as well as several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank Mrs. Rebecca Lavergne and Hospice for their loving care.
