Obituary

Lucy Isabell Lee Hill-Johnson, 91, of Bristol, Tennessee, by way of Greenville, Tennessee, transitioned from earth to glory on January 22, 2023. She was born on January 10, 1932.

She attended George Clem School in Greenville. She worked and retired from Raytheon after 20-plus years of service.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Friendly 12, and various other organizations. She was a lifelong member of Lee Street Baptist Church and served as a host to guests and on the kitchen committee. As a valued member of the church, she visited, cared for, and supported the sick and shut-in around the community.

She enjoyed attending church services, reading the newspaper, cooking, dressing up with her infamous jewelry, and reminiscing about her family and hometown of Greenville. Lucy also enjoyed planting flowers, raising ALL of her grandchildren, and spending time with her family. Lucy had a heart of gold. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for you. If she had it, she gave it with love and never asked for anything in return. Lucy was a genuine yet resilient soul everything she did was from her heart. She never turned anyone away. Lucy was a true beacon of light, her smile, laughter, and hugs were not only contagious but infectious.

Just like her father, Lucy had a love for fine clothing and jewelry. Author was the first black tailor in Greenville. She visited a museum in Greenville where several of his instruments are displayed.

She was predeceased by her parents, Author and Lilian (Lula) Hill; brother, James; and husband, Major Henry Johnson.

She is survived by her 5 children, Major, Patricia, Teressa, David, and Pamela; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; close cousins, Brazil (Bunny) Dukes, Chris Hunt - Brenton & (Dave); and a host of other relatives including the Alumus/Hill family including her dearest friend Ms. Jewel Bell.

May her light continue to shine as she rests in peace in her Father's hands. "God's promise "
