Alex Troy Fersner departed this life Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1963, in Washington, D.C., to Carolyn J. Woodliff and Shelton Fersner, Jr.

Troy grew up in Lee Street Baptist Church under the leadership of his stepfather, Rev. Dr. W.A. Johnson. He graduated from Virginia High School and was an entrepreneur. In his free time, Troy enjoyed carpentry, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. Dedicated to his health, he had a special interest in boxing, working out, and body building. He will be missed for his tender heart, easy-going spirit, and loving personality.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shelton Fersner, Jr.; stepfather, Rev. W.A. Johnson, Sr.; brother, Willis “Festus” Johnson, Jr.; three sisters, Deborah Webb, Brenda Greene, and Valerie Stewart; brother, Kevin Fersner; and nephew, Michael Fersner, Jr.

To cherish his memory, Troy leaves behind his mother, Carolyn J. Woodliff Johnson; siblings, Michael (Dorthea) Fersner, Hope (Rob) Ampudia, Jerry Johnson, and Arthur Fersner; brother-in-law, Robert Stewart; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
