Nickelous Phillip
Glispie
Jul 15, 1956 — Feb 27, 2023
Nickelous Phillip Glispie, 66, died Monday, February 27, 2023, at home in Alexandria, VA.
Nickelous was born July 15, 1956, to Elnoria (Mobley) and Steve Glispie in Bristol, TN. He was the 10th of 12 children. Nickelous attended East Tennessee College in Johnson City, TN, and Middle Tennessee State University after graduating from Tennessee High School. Nickelous served in the US Army and later worked as an electrician at the Pentagon until his retirement in September 2015.
He was well-liked among his colleagues and neighbors. He loved sports, especially fishing, was often seen working out in the gym, conversing, and helping whenever his services were needed. His love of life and generous-nature set him apart from being just one of a kind, "a diamond in the rough."
Nickelous was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Elnoria Glispie; two older sisters, Alberta Dawson and Norma J. Redmon; and three older brothers, Steve Glispie Jr., Noah L. Glispie, and John P. Glispie.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha (Lawrence) Franklin, Pearlie McMillan, Agnes Skaggs, Valerie (George) Carter, and Deborah Glispie; one brother, Ralph Glispie; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard.
