Peter Stephan Anderson, aka "Little Ceaser," was born on November 8, 1952, in Washington D.C to parents Addison, aka "Bill" and Maggie Anderson. After the passing of his parents at an early age, Peter and his siblings were taken in and raised by his loving Aunt Martha and Uncle John, in Bristol, Tennessee, along with their cousins Betty, Carol, and Dallas, aka "Dickie Pace."

In the 7th grade, Peter joined the group "Little Ceaser and the Euterpeans" as the lead singer. He co-wrote several songs, including "It Was Love," which was re-released in 2022 and is currently
being played internationally.

After graduating from high school, Peter attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in environmental health in 1974. Peter moved to Michigan and set up residence there. He worked at Monsanto Company in Trenton, Michigan. Later that same year, in 1974, he and the love of his life, Loretta Higgins, were married. She left Bristol and joined her husband to begin their journey as husband and wife and enjoy all that God intended marriage to be.

In 1978, they welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Stephan Rashad, to join their union. And oh, what a blessing that has been! Peter, being an athlete and an avid lover of sports (especially the Washington Redskins), it seemed only appropriate for him to coach Rashad and his friends in basketball, soccer, and baseball. Peter was a hands-on Father. He loved to spend time with his son. He molded him into a man who took on the responsibility of caring and providing for his family in the same capacity as Peter.

Peter went back to school in 1979 and received a first-class license for an audio technician from Specs Howard University School of Media Arts in Southfield, Michigan. The advice of his instructor, who worked at the number one TV station, ABC WXYZ TV Channel 7 in Detroit, Michigan, during that time, convinced Peter to join the company as the audio person for the WXYT Radio talk show, which was part of the TV station. Peter flourished in this environment and impacted others through his standard of excellence. Peter eventually transitioned to television, where he was a camera operator and one of the first to be trained on the Robo camera. He was very proficient in audio, both in the studio and the field. In 2012, he became Technical Director and the frontman for the operations of audio and twelve cameras, keeping them on track.

Peter retired in 2019 after 39 years of faithful service at Channel 7, where he was affectionately known as "Sarge" for his take-charge demeanor and dedication to hard work. Many friends and family gathered in January of that same year to celebrate his accomplishments. After retirement, he started playing the piano and was very good. He gave of himself unconditionally to others through volunteering, mentoring, tutoring academics, coaching sports, and being a father figure to several young men.

After announcing that we would not be moving out of Michigan at the retirement party, little did we know that in April 2019, that same year, we would pack up and move to Georgia and begin a joyful life with our son, daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, sister-in-law, and new friends.

Peter, a proud native of Bristol and a believer of Jesus Christ, made his transition in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, November 10, 2023, with his beautiful wife and the love of his life, Loretta, by his side. Peter was a donor of his precious eyes to a seventy-six-year-old man.

He was preceded in death by parents Addison "Bill" and Maggie Anderson, Aunt Martha and Uncle John Pace, brothers Hubert Leach and Warren Leach, cousin Dallace "Dickie" Pace, and brother-in-law Terry Higgins.

Peter has many loved ones who will continue sharing joyful memories of their time together. Among those who will cherish his memories are his devoted wife and friend of 49 years, Loretta; son, Rashad (Terrace); grandchildren, Seth, Israel, Luke, and Isaiah; his favorite sister, Jessica Lane (Larry) McConnell; and brother, Michael (Ester) Anderson. Extended family, Betty Pace Morton, Carol Pace Benefee, Leslie Rose, and Howard "Tater" (Felisha) Rose; sisters-in-law, Scherry (Mike) Patterson, Angela Whittemore, and Christina Higgins; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that span worldwide who will miss him dearly!
