Raylene Amanda
Miller
Dec 31, 1956 — Nov 4, 2022
"You can shed tears that she is gone. Or you can smile because she has lived." - David Harkins
Some people walk this earth for only a brief time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On November 4, 2022, Raylene Miller of Kingsport, TN, age 65, gained her angel wings and rejoined her heavenly family.
Raylene was enjoying her retirement from Northeast State Community College after many years of service. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. She had a kind and compassionate spirit whose dedication was caring for others. Her love for her church, family, and friends remains unsurpassable. She was an avid sewer and volunteer who cherished her time with her Joyful Stitcher's sewing friends. She used her sewing talent to help those in need. She had a giving heart. Her happy place was her sewing room, and her passion was gifting and showing those who knew her a plethora of love.
Raylene is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Maggie Dee Donaldson, and her sister-in-law, Ethel Wood Donaldson.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Herbert W. Miller, affectionately known as "Sweetie," of Kingsport, TN; brothers, Charles Donaldson & Ward Donaldson of Sweetwater, TN; nieces and sons-in-law, Cassie & Michael Gibson, of Sweetwater, TN, and Shemika & William B. Cox, III, of Cleveland, TN; nephew & great nieces, Hayden, Kasiah & Olivia Gibson, and Sariyah & Kaija Cox; step-daughters, Monique Ransom & Jennifer Hughes; step-grandchildren, Desean Hughes and Zoe Pierce; brothers-in-law, Charles & Gwen Miller, Melvin & Myra Miller, Steve Hardy, Andrew Hardy, Bear Hardy, and Kevin Hardy; sisters-in-law, Faye & Roy Vaught and Sharon "Kay Kay" & Mike Panaccione; as well as a host of devoted relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Raylene Miller will be conducted Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 12 pm from Shiloh Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the hour of service. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 712 E. Sevier Ave., Kingsport, TN 37660.
