Robert Lee "RD" Delapp departed this life Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Bristol. He was born on June 27, 1951, in Bristol, Virginia.

Robert graduated from Douglass High School. As an adult, he pursued many trades and was a talented craftsman specializing in home remodeling and stained glass. Robert was also an artist who enjoyed making custom walking canes. He also enjoyed gardening and caring for bonsai trees. He was known for saying, "If you are going to do something, do it right the first time." Above all that he did, Robert was known for his heart of gold and kindness to others.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Delapp; grandmother, Evelyn Delapp; daughter, Jasmine Delapp; son, Alex Delapp; brother, Jimmy Delapp; and uncles, W.H. Delapp, Charles Ed Delapp, and George Delapp.

Robert leaves behind his wife, Darlene Delapp; children, Shawn, Shay, Robert Jr., and Monica; granddaughter, Victoria Wheeler; siblings, Edgar (Lisa) Delapp, Doris Delapp, Evelyn "Weezy" Delapp; aunt, Lorraine Delapp; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
