Thomas Preston, 89, passed away after a lengthy illness on October 12, 2022, at Ballad Health Hospice House. He was born on January 17, 1933, in Glade Spring, VA, to John Preston and Callie Reddix.

Tom served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was also a dedicated employee of Wallace Oldsmobile for several decades. Thomas served faithfully as a deacon of Lee Street Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Sensabaugh Preston; sons, Thomas Preston Jr. and Brock Preston.

He is survived by his niece, Bonnie Norris; nephew, Michael Carter of Bristol, TN; godchildren, Paula Hogans and Derrick Hord; and several other close family members. He is also survived by his dedicated caregiver and friend, William Campbell.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 17, 2022, at 11 am from Lee Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the hour of the service. Entombment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lee Street Baptist Church, 1 Mary Street, Bristol, VA 24201.
