Mrs. Verdia Boyd Bradley, 68, of Bristol, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born in Washington, NC on September 23, 1948. Verdia was a graduate of Bristol Virginia High School and Bristol Commercial College. She was also a teacher at the Bristol Child Development center for several years.She was an active member of Harris-Anderson AME Zion Church for over 60 years and truly enjoyed the kitchen ministry. She also held offices in the WH&OM's Missionary Society and Douglas-Slater Alumni Association.Verdia was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Boyd-Ross; her father, David Williams Sr.; her foster mother, Mildred S. Rhea; and her husband Kenneth Bradley Sr. She is survived by her children Kenneth Bradley Jr. of Kingsport, TN; Kotinna Thompson (James) of Kingsport, TN; and Renita Friese (Larry) of Crestview, FL. She also has four grandchildren; Diametrous, Hayden, Payton, and Wernher; as well as one great-grandson Isaiah; and a host of cousins and friends. She was grateful for her devoted friend Dr. M. Diane Lewis.Funeral services for Ms. Bradley will be conducted from Harris Anderson AME Zion Church Friday June 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service.
