William David Person departed this life on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1938 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

William was a Hebrew Israelite and member of Temple Beth El in Newark, New Jersey. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he lived in East Orange, New Jersey. William enjoyed playing Pinochle with his cousins and buddies on Saturday nights. He moved to Bristol, Virginia, to live with his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Person, and his wife, Lucille Person.

To cherish his memory, William leaves behind his daughters, Davone Johnson of Bristol, Virginia, and Evonne Owens of New Jersey; cousins, Elder Lloyd (Jean) Person and Anna Thomas, both of New Jersey; grandchildren, Stacey Owens of New Jersey, Troy Owens of New Jersey, Lashawn Johnson of Maryland, Shaka (LeShanda) Andrew of Tennessee, and Bakari (Brittany) Andrew of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Xavier, Khari, Ivory, Zola, Nehemiah, Theo, and Dominique; niece, Andrea White; and many cousins and friends.
