Willis A. Johnson Jr., affectionately known as "Festus" and "Bones," departed this life on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Festus was born on August 26, 1958, in Richmond, Virginia, to Rev. Dr. W.A. Johnson, Sr., and Louise Whitley Johnson.
Festus graduated from Virginia High School. He served in the United States Navy and worked in construction. He was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. Festus enjoyed fishing and playing skill games. He had a friendly and helpful personality.
Festus was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Whitley Johnson; father, Rev. Dr. W.A. Johnson; three sisters, Deborah Webb, Brenda Greene, and Valerie Stewart; brother, Kevin Fersner; and nephew, Michael Fersner, Jr.
To cherish his memory, Festus leaves behind his son, Emmanuel Alexander Johnson; siblings, Michael (Dorthea) Fersner, Hope (Rob) Ampudia, Jerry Johnson, Troy Fersner, and Arthur Fersner; brother-in-law, Robert Stewart; step-mother, Carolyn W. Johnson; nieces, Marshena Fersner, Iena Greene, Jeri Stewart, Brittany Yates, Megan Yates, Ashleigh Fersner, and Brooke Fersner; nephew, Kyle Fersner; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
